Behold! A mighty scarf! I’m using Caron Simply Soft in Dark Country Blue and Heather Gray, 2 size 6 Silvalume circular knitting needles.

I love this project. Its easy, mindless and… quick. Most people on Ravelry seemed to really hate making these but I’m really enjoying it. I can see slow knitters getting impatient over it, though.

And we all need some brainless work sometimes, right?

But really… if I can find a good set of blue and bronze, I’ll make the book colors, too. And I’ll probably make a Gryffindor scarf after that for no other reason than those were my high school colors. Wouldn’t that be neato? Actually, maybe I’ll make it after this one. Yeah.

And man is it soft! Is feel sooo nice. And it looks awesome, except where my stripes are. Grr. But I’m very proud of it.

I haven’t been doing a whole lot of anything but writing and meandering about the room here. I started tackling my desk area just a bit ago. Sometimes cleaning is a nice, mindless thing too. I’m trying really really hard to throw out (or donate) as much as I can. Because less is more.

Hi all! I have all sorts of stuff to blog about, but I’m having a hard time figuring out how to do that :-p I don’t want one monstrous post but I don’t know if I want to do multiple in one day. *shrug*

So here’s a painting I started today. I don’t know what I’m going to do with it. I just had an overwhelming urge to slap something around. So far, acrylic (real gold, cheap stuffs), water colors (yellow, cheapo) and gel medium used. Yes, I have other paintings in this stage, but, you know:

And last, and most painfully not least - My PoA movie color Ravenclaw HP scarf started at LAST! I decided to go ahead and cast on today. I bought the yarn the other day. Caron Simply soft in Heather Gray and Dark Country Blue on size 6 circs. SIZE 6! *screams* I need to go get 2 more things of the blue. It can wait though since they have no dye lot (my ass…):

Annd… I’ve really backed away from all my Y! artsy e-groups and I backed out of all those nifty challenges ages ago, though I’ll keep Art Buzz on my list because I like her challenges. Just because… I don’t know. I’m on no-mail on the one group I really like and can’t think of, because I just wasn’t reading the e-mails anymore :-/

Aaaand, I think I’ll take a break from knitting all those damn dishcloths :-p If I can just finish my damn techno ripple shawl, then I’ll have a 6 to do dishcloths with. So let that be a motivation to myself to finish the techno shawl, even though I’m not sure how big it’ll get on the 32″ I have… bah.

So I figured I can start posting stuff I want to save up for.
Starting with Harry Potter crap! Yay!
And don’t tell me I can make these things myself. I can’t sew worth shit and I like what Alivan’s has for stuff.

I already have a wand. It’s really basic and plain, but I really like it. I got it for myself in ‘04 for completing National Novel Writing Month ^-^

Okay, the one thing I’ve really really wanted the most: a Harry Potter robe! Sure its tempting to go for the prettier, spendier color lined robes with a hood, but I like the idea of being house neutral. Even though I -would- be a Ravenclaw.

Okay, I really really REALLY like both these hats. One is only slightly more than the other. And I LOVE McGonegall. (both are hers) I’d like to get them both. But which one first? Eee! Probably the one on the left, so I can remain as neutral as possible. *nodnod* Then the one on the right would have to wait ’til I get everything else :-p

—-OMFG—. If we weren’t shit on our luck I would demand that Whitepaws get this staff for me for my birthday ^-^ So looks like I’ll have to save up for it somehow myself. This staff is just totally amazing. And the perfect height. I was drooling on all of the others but really, this one fits my personality the most. I wouldn’t mind getting the plain oak one eventually, too. I have a walking stick made of dogwood but I think because its not protected by anything its kinda looking a bit sad.

Ohhh look at the sexxy sexxy Scarlet Hawk broom! Who wouldn’t want one of these? This one’s lower on my list because it would be the least useful LOL. But I would so take this with me to Harry parties, if I ever had the chance. And of course, no Quidditch outfit is complete without…

Quidditch goggles! How amazingly stupid but fun would these be to have? They’re just plain cool looking. Again, not high at all on my list because of their uselessness.

Something really really cool to carry around when I’m Pottering. Completely useless, but shiny and prolly get it with the goggles or broom or something ^-^ oh, and look, MORE money! I’m the kind of gal that would take them out of their case and keep ‘em on hand ^-^

Aaand… I DON’T need another wand, but I’d -love- to have Hermione’s wand. I wouldn’t even tough it though if it’s anything but wood. The Noble Collection site doesn’t say what its made out of. But its a very sexy wand.

And last and most certainly least: Wand care kit! *shrug* It would be something fun to have in my trunk. I prolly would use it when I feel like being pathetic and fun, but… yeah. It would just be fun to have ^-^

SSSooo… If I got my MUST HAVE items (hat, staff, robe) it would all cost just under $200. That’s not TOO bad considering the sheer amount of happyhappyfunfun I’d get from said items ^-^

Why yes, I am participating in National Novel Writing Month 2007!

Yeah, I’m going for year number 4. I have random ideas of what I want to write about. I wanted to do something different from the usual thing I’ve been doing. Of course, last year I had a book plan all ready to start up, but I changed my mind at the last possible moment and went with yet another addition to my fantasy series.

So I have no clue what is going to happen until it happens.

Dumbledore is out of the closet!

There are some people that haven’t heard yet, and I’m a little surprised. Why aren’t the self-righteous religious assholes jumping all over this? Or maybe you are. I haven’t bothered to look at selfrightousreligiousassholes.com recently.

I never got the impression that Dumbledore was gay… I don’t think I thought it even once! Though I did ponder about his personal life in that manner and wondered why there wasn’t anything mentioned. I think its all fine and dandy that he’s gay. It fits him, it really does. Its not like Rowling pulled it out of her ass for attention. Now, if she had Dumbledore going after McGonagall or Sprout or the other professors, I’d be a tad bit upset and felt like I was mislead.

If anybody out there is actually upset that Dumbledore turned out being gay (let’s say that you don’t have anything against gays), then I’d have to say you should be upset with yourself. Did you assume that Dumbledore was straight? Its not very nice to assume things about people, you fatass! … *snicker* I need a new brand of humor.

I’m partially glad his gayness was not in the books because that would have made a huge stinky mess of things. There are already idiot parents who can’t parent their children properly who go and burn the books for teaching their pweciouses how to sacrifice virgin kittens.

But really, I could care less who or what Dumbledore wants to have a relationship with, and I don’t care that it wasn’t mentioned until now. I think neat little details like that breathe life into characters who are already alive in the minds of so many children and adults already. It just like… extra magic.
