Last night I was thinking about people. You know, those stinky fleshbags we all have to interact with on a day to day basis. I was wondering about what is making people so rude. After a few nano-moments of thought, and my finger itching to be pointing blame somewhere, I settled on the automatic doors at shopping centers across the universe.
Isn’t that the root of all chivalry? Opening doors for others? Everything is becoming so automated for us, that we’re used to not having to go out of our way for anything anymore.
That’s all I can think of for now. Vash is back in squawk mode and I’m getting cranky.

To answer Fred’s question, I’m going through lulu.com’s printing service, i.e. self publishing. I’m doing this because I want full control of my project. And yes, that leaves marketing it up to me, which sounds really exciting, so I’m looking forward to it :)
And, as I promised, a poem that shall be included in my first poetry book (the title of the book isn’t set in stone yet):
Throat Chakra
I sired a vapid breath, that came
askew.
And the rest came as a
trickle
so crimped,
You thought me most virtu-esque.
No matter; the wag in your way
gave birth to the waxing rapine
(that you knew I hid in my
ethereal nexus),
that brings you
agog, even if a dismal breath
comes by dismal
Step, stepping out, just to allay
something’s genesis
Into the next sigh.

Okay, I’m still alive.
Hi Fred! ^-^
Ever since I switched to Ubuntu, I’ve been a little turned off by computers. Not that Ubuntu is bad, but I don’t know… guess I’m still getting used to it.
Progress on my first poetry book is going out pretty well. I have a poem that I think I’ll share here, that will be in the book. I decided that, instead of putting 150 poems in the book, it’s going to be somewhere between 50 and 100. 150 just seems like too big of a chunk of myself to just poke out there all at once.
It’s the cover design that’s holding me back. I know the GIMP is a great program and I’ve made some great graphics with it in the past (Window’s side), but I just haven’t got around to working on it. And I do have some ideas, thanks to a nice guy at Lulu.com.
And I got super busy when my parents decided to come spend a few days here - it was super stressful and taking up all my time to help her find the best hotel and make up an itinerary for stuff to take them to and… whew!
And I’ve spent the last couple days, of almost every waking minute, creating jewelry. I’ve been trying to decide if and where I should sell online. eBay is out of the question. But I’m strongly considering Etsy.com. Their fees are very fair, and items stay in your shop for 6 months.
AND! I’m thinking of adding publishing to my list ‘o things to attribute to Funky Cat Studio. Like I really need more ideas :-p
So that’s it for me for now. I think I’ll post that poem up on Monday.
be groovy, people!

So, through an act of desperation to make Vash squawk less (and ’cause I’m convinced he’s lonely), Whitey and I went and got a new ‘keet last night.
We’re thinking about naming him (better be a he) Knives, as in Vash the Stampede’s brother.
All my friends hate Knives as a name, so I suggested Wolfwood, and they LOVE that, but I like Knives better.

It was a really great trip. I got to hear more than I ever wanted to
hear about the usual things older ladies talk about. I wish I could
have gone by myself, I really don’t like those kinds of conversations.
But we had a grand time shopping :)
I bought myself a crystal that screamed my name and found a shop that
has these awesome crystal bowls. I can’t even begin to tell you how
awesome those were. I don’t know what they’re actually called, but you
use a stick and make them “sing”. They’re made out of all sorts of
materials, but quarts being the base material on all of them. I really
wish I had brought my camera into the store.

I’ve included some pics… the one of the mountain itself was as close
as we could get to it. We got to go 10 miles up the road before we were
blocked off. No clue why.

… and this impression we saw on a tree. Everyone kept saying it looked like an
angel or Indian standing there. I thought it was kinda neat. Then they
started calling it their guide. Even close up it looked like something,
but it was really just some animal that came along and rubbed up against
it. Probably a bear.
We didn’t meet any Lumarians or anything, but they did their meditation
thing, and while I was laying there, I felt a pulse from the earth, and
also, a little later, envisioned a cave sort of thing with light in it,
deep in the ground, but the cave was closed off to the outside.
*shrug*Â I know I have an overactive imagination, but I don’t dismiss
everything like that as invalid :)
All in all, it was a great day. It was great to get out.
Also I tried out the theory of putting masking tape over one’s belly
button to combat car sickness and it seemed to do pretty well!
Shasta is in Northern California. I’m so fortunate to live in Southern Oregon. We’re so close to the coast, Shasta, Crater Lake, Redwood forests, a few vortexes, and who knows what else! (and some big foot… I’ve heard that they BEEP atcha! LOL)
