Project Snuggles!

Jun 18th, 2008 Posted in my Arts & Crafts | no comment »

Wow, my 2nd post today. Be sure to look below this one so you don’t miss it.

This moment’s post is about: the SNUGGLES PROJECT!

No, not Project Snuggles. I’m not talking about that sort of pathetic needfulness. I’m talking ANIMALS.

I want to make Snuggles as a sort of personal apology to the animals locked up into all those little cells, the poor caged critters of which most will be “humanely euthanized”.

DON’T MAKE ME MAKE YOU WATCH EARTHLINGS! YOU WILL CRY, YOU DISGUSTING HUMAN! If you meatbags stopped BREEDING YOUR FUCKING CATS AND DOGS and started ADOPTING animals that will get gassed, injected or tossed in the trash compactor (wish that last one was an exaggeration), then we’d be on our way to a BETTER FUCKING WORLD!

Shitfuckers.

*ahem*

I -need- to learn some cussing in foreign languages. I’m getting tired of putting random English words together :-p

So yeah. I’ve got 3 WIPs right now (again, see post below). Here’s my first finished one, crocheted because I couldn’t find a knitted pattern I liked and need to keep my needles open:

firstsnuggle-300x204 Project Snuggles!

Its only like 14″x14″. It doesn’t meet the size requirements on the website, but from my reading, some lady’s shelter she donates to takes 10″x10″ and 12″x12″. So I figure I’ll be doing all sortsa sizes. I’ll make a ton then see who wants them.

Gaw… I’m full of piss n vinegar today. I think because I’ve been consuming more sugar than I should. That always makes me cranky.

New WIPs: Painting, snuggles & Ravenclaw Scarf

Jun 18th, 2008 Posted in my Arts & Crafts | no comment »

Hi all! I have all sorts of stuff to blog about, but I’m having a hard time figuring out how to do that :-p I don’t want one monstrous post but I don’t know if I want to do multiple in one day. *shrug*

So here’s a painting I started today. I don’t know what I’m going to do with it. I just had an overwhelming urge to slap something around. So far, acrylic (real gold, cheap stuffs), water colors (yellow, cheapo) and gel medium used. Yes, I have other paintings in this stage, but, you know:

AND, I’ve finally jumped on the Snuggles bandwagon. Cheap Red Heart, Red Heart Baby Soft and Softee Chunky used:

And last, and most painfully not least - My PoA movie color Ravenclaw HP scarf started at LAST! I decided to go ahead and cast on today. I bought the yarn the other day. Caron Simply soft in Heather Gray and Dark Country Blue on size 6 circs. SIZE 6! *screams* I need to go get 2 more things of the blue. It can wait though since they have no dye lot (my ass…):

00003-300x206 New WIPs: Painting, snuggles & Ravenclaw Scarf

Annd… I’ve really backed away from all my Y! artsy e-groups and I backed out of all those nifty challenges ages ago, though I’ll keep Art Buzz on my list because I like her challenges. Just because… I don’t know. I’m on no-mail on the one group I really like and can’t think of, because I just wasn’t reading the e-mails anymore :-/

Aaaand, I think I’ll take a break from knitting all those damn dishcloths :-p If I can just finish my damn techno ripple shawl, then I’ll have a 6 to do dishcloths with. So let that be a motivation to myself to finish the techno shawl, even though I’m not sure how big it’ll get on the 32″ I have… bah.

Crochet blanket in progress

Huge blanket!

I started this earlier this year. It prolly would have been done by now if I had enough money to put towards the yarn for it :) Its a really quickie blanket, really. I plan to make more this way.

Each green and brown stripe equals to 2 balls each of Lion Brand’s Jiffy. Each of the off-white stripes equal to somewhere between 1/2 & 3/4 ball of cheap Red Heart Acrylic. I wanted that color to be a bit thinner than the colored parts.

New laptop & Amugurumi & more

So I’ve got a new laptop, and w hat a sexy beast it is. Oh? I haven’t been around much, says you? Well gee I dunno why…

MAYBE BECAUSE NOTHING FREAKING WORKS so I’ve been spending EVERY WAKING MOMENT trying to FIX things?

Yeah, that could be it ^-^

To be fair: I’m using a fresh Fedora Core 7 install. And the laptop is new, so you know… I just gotta give it time to settle in, I suppose.

But still >.<

I’ve been croching my 2nd amigurumi ever. I love those little guys, but my crochet skills are shaky, really. I bought a handful of patterns for things I really liked, to get me to better learn crochet, and it’s worked out quite a bit. Yay for affordable patterns :) There’s more I’d like to get, but the more I play with the crochet, the more I realise I can probably easily make my own amigurmi.

Oh yeah, amigurmi (for those not in the know) is Japanese for crocheted animals. Or something along those likes. They’re really neato. There’s also amigurumi objects, such as coffee cups and various foods ^-^

Script Frenzy? Yeah, I can’t get anywhere on it! I’m having one helluva time thinking in scrips. Rayna’s Story? Well, I started typing it up on the laptop so I can work on it, and I’ve found an area in the beginning that I need to add to to clarify what’s going on.

The Poetry Book? I’ve got the pages laid out with one poem per page (thanks Jayn and others for encouragement in that!). Its bothering me that I don’t have much control over the page numbers. I’d like to have the page count start whith the first poem, know what I mean? But with the way its acting, by the time the first poem hits, its going to be page 4 or 5 or so >.< so I gotta fiddle with OpenOffice.

As for my sad attempt at gardening, my alyssum seems to be done blooming. It has been for awhile. And I’m sad about that.

My strawberries are producing crap. Plant #1 has given me 2 berries (yum!) and plant #2 has given me 1 berry (it was slightly tart) and plant #3 has not given me one damn edible berrie. It keeps making these itty bitty deformed/retarded berries. I rip them off as soon as I see them. It doesn’t seem to be helping at all.

My landscape daiseys seem like they haven’t been too active lately either, but then again, I’m not outside much.

As for my piano development, I discovered arpeggios! (I’m self taught, can you tell?). And it was quite by accident. I started teaching myself the minor and major chords (A thru G) and went “Hey, what happens if I play one note at a time?” and before I knew it I was making funfun goof off music. It was like the heaven’s opened! I understood music on a whole new level!

And I can play Colorblind from Counting Crows in my sleep. No I won’t send you the sheet music, I learned it from YouTube ^-^

……

I think that’s about it. Oh, I did join up with this card selling place, check out my java card app to the right. buy my cards and I get .50! Ohhh :) (yeah I’ve only got one so far…)

Some random stuff

Mar 8th, 2007 Posted in On Writing..., my Arts & Crafts | no comment »

So I realized something the other day. You know how smokers will tell you to never start smoking, ’cause its a bad habit, etc? A lot of people have told me that over the years.

Lots of people have told me not to have kids. It goes hand in hand with not smoking. Because they ruin your sex life, he wont like your boobs anymore, etc. Weird.

On another note, I took the Double Crochet hat off my Works in Progress list to the right there ’cause it was giving me a hard time. Crocheting anything more complex than leprosy bandages right now is a bad idea. The ol’ hook just ain’t likin’ me.

Speaking of which, my leprosy bandage is probably ready to be worked on again. It had been abandoned when I was out of state for a few months. I came back and ew. It was stinky. So last time I checked it seemed to be pretty well aired out. Its almost done, too. After its done, I’ll start another, but I’m not sure yet if I want to knit or crochet them. Knitting takes longer (big deal, right?) but they seem to come out “softer”.

I decided to make a crochet blanket sort of thing out of some sage green Plush yarn. I originally got it to make Branching Out from Knitty.com, ’cause its just gooorjess. But, you know… it didn’t want to be that. So the long of the short of it: I started an afghan/blanket, via crochet, using this pattern more or less. I had a hard time following the directions, so I’m making it up as I go along.

Such is life, eh?

As for editing Blood Rose, I’m still within the first few chapters of book #1. Its been very interesting. Kind of mind boggling, too. Its not easy work, but it needs to be done. The whole trilogy is such a mess. Of course, what do you expect from writing that much so fast and not going about it slow, methodical and- hey, do any writers do it that way? :-p

That and I need to figure out something about Rayna’s dad. Does he even need to come into the picture? Does she have a father back at the village? Sometimes I think I’m too logical to do this whole writing thing, because everything has to make sense, dang it. And for that little flaw, I sometimes can’t enjoy TV and such. Especially cartoons. Oh but I do love cartoons.

Camp Lazlo, anyone? :)

I like the Camp Lazlo show because Lazlo is a nice guy. I’m getting really sick and tired of all these asshole animals/kids in cartoons. Especially Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends. Bloo is a huge jerk. I used to like tho show, when it first started, and it does have some funny moments and cool characters, but Bloo just makes it suck big time. But of course, he’s always “forgiven” for his behavior and viola, he does it again.
